DOING
TEACHINGSHARING

Andrea is an incredible teacher! She takes the time to help us understand and is here for the students. She always has good lesson plans and I feel like I am actually being taught instead of the feeling of having to teach myself. She is patient with students and expressed great concern for all her students. She has well structured lectures and provides helpful feedback on how to grow and be better.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, SPA 3 ELEMENTARY SPANISH, 2023

Andrea was an amazing TA and whoever has her in the future is going to be so lucky! She really looked out for us and made sure we a) understood the material and b) was actually doing okay in our daily lives. She constantly advocated for us, and I'm so grateful for her. She definitely was really good at expanding on course ideas and she even brought in her own experiences sometimes as well. I appreciated her so much!

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, CCAS 101 THEORETICAL CONCEPTS IN CHICANA/O STUDIES, 2022

Andrea is one of the best TAs I have had in my 4 years here at UCLA. Her discussions were engaging, organized, incredibly helpful, had much student involvement, and every other great adjective. She centered our wellbeing in our class and it was very evident in the way she welcomed us to question the work at hand and the work we developed. For our final project, Andrea went above and beyond to assure that we understood what was to be done and walked us through step by step how to craft a research proposal (which most of us were unfamiliar with). She is an incredibly caring and passionate individual who deserves all the praise available and UCLA is lucky to have her!

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, CCAS 10B INTRO. TO CHICANA/O STUDIES SOCIAL STRUCTURE & CONTEMPORARY CONDITIONS, 2022

I appreciate all the resources she would share with us and helped us critically think about the topics covered in class. I really appreciate that she helped encourage our creativity. Above all, She stood out as a TA because she was always so positive and offered a safe space for us to feel supported since school can be pretty difficult at times. The extra resources she provided were an amazing addition because it expanded my knowledge on Chicano/a/x art and resistance. I really loved having her as a TA :)
